ATHS Meeting: Speaker BEVERLY HEATH

 BEVERLY HEATH
Beverly Heath portrays Mary Walls, wife of adoptive son of the Shawnee, Christopher Miller. Christopher was captured by the Indians in 1782 and learned the language and customs of the Native Americans. Rescued by his brother in 1794, Miller was instrumental in the signing of the 1795 Greenville Peace Treaty that ended the Northwest Indian Wars and opened southern Ohio for white settlers.  A copy of the treaty bears his signature. Beverly is a direct descendant of Christopher Miller.  The LaRue County Miller farm has been in Beverly’s family for over 200 years.
